The Search for my TRUE LOVE (jumping into online dating....with seat belt on!!)

Well, after months of pushing I FINALLY have taken the plunge and subscribed to an online dating site. Being that I am SO FAR removed from the "dating scene" (for various reasons) I am very reluctant about this. Don't get me wrong now, I've tried those "free dating apps" where I found it was basically a bar in your cell phone, dudes trying to get laid. I found out quickly that wasn't for me. So, I began researching this specific site from various people, strangers and friends, and was TOLD this was the way for me to go. Being from a small town, where every bar is a scene from Cheers (little better haircuts & semi-better looking guys), I'm just so over it ya know. Maybe in big cities online dating is extremely successful BUT out of EVERYONE I know there is only ONE couple I know who met this way (granted they have been married about 15 years but it's still JUST ONE couple.) I've ALREADY been amused at the approach some of the men have used in the emails I've received. Not the most interesting of a sentence ;).........Anyway, God knows I'd like to find someone I can at least tolerate but it sure would be something if I found someone I was actually attracted to....whoa momma!! So, my month long (I only paid for a month as I want to see if it is even worth THAT MUCH time) journey begins, I'm sure I'll have some stories for ya! Till next time...............

The Beginning of the Beginning

Oh wow......a blog. At this point, with the hundreds of thousands out there it feels a bit...redundant. However, part of the title of this blog says "Me Against Monotony" right?......So, I guess here I go ;) Now, most of my postings probably will be monotonous (but isn't "life" that way) but I'm gonna do my damnedest to find the humor in it because RIGHT NOW, in MY life, if I don't laugh I will probably NEVER stop crying. I really hope I find souls out there who will laugh WITH me (& if ya gotta laugh AT me, that's cool too)......
